Dear parents,
We would like to welcome you to our class. We appreciate for entrusting your child's education with us and our school, Arab International Academy. Rest assured that we will do our best to provide many opportunities for your child to learn and acquire skills they needed to develop despite the challenges brought by this pandemic. With your support and participation, we are ready to take on many challenges ahead of us.
In order to be safe while your children are at school, we will strictly maintain precautionary measures established by our school administration and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, which includes safe social distance inside and outside the classroom, wearing of facial masks, frequent washing of hands, among some other similar practices that prevent us from getting the virus and any other form illnesses. Students are expected to follow all the safety protocols. If you have concerns that might cause them to not wear a mask, please contact our administrators through our school secretaries. Besides the usual precautionary measures, we will send you more information on what else we will do at school to ensure everyone's safety.

The following are some of the things we would like to achieve this year.
- Students achieve higher and better scores in Mathematics and English (Reading and Language) in the MAP Test and other assessments, perhaps the mean score is Average or High Average in the third and final test.
- Students produce summative assessment projects in the Unit of Inquiry that are of much better quality.
- Students improve their reading levels, where at least 70% of our students are on their expected level (DRA 30, or 660-930 Lexile points, or Level N on RAZ Kids-Fountas and Pinnell) toward the end of the year. (Last year, it was 50%.)
- Students write quality, coherent, and meaningful three (3) paragraphs or longer.
- The class achieves 97% or higher monthly attendance rate.
- Students show high level of mastery in mathematical operations (with special focus on multiplication and division) and other math skills to prepare them for challenges in higher grade levels.
- There is more active participation and engagement among students.
- Students show improvement in their research, communication, self-management, thinking, and social skills, also known as Approaches to Learning (ATL).
- The class acquires a minimum of 100,000 RAZ Kids star points each month.
- There is more active involvement among parents, especially during parent-teacher conferences.
- 100% parent connectivity in Seesaw and Edunation is achieved and parents are actively interacting on the platform.
- There are no incidents that require the involvement of other school staff other than classroom teachers.
To achieve all the abovementioned objectives and all other ideals, we would need your active participation and support.
This webpage will serve as a landing page for parents. We ask you to frequent this page as we will post everything you need to support your child in school.
Thank you and may this year be a fruitful year for everyone.
Mr. Arturo de Luna (Lead Teacher)
